Shall we try again? I know what I want and need to do....I even know how to do it....but do you think I can get off my lazy ass and do it? Nooooo of course not! I would rather play games and watch tv and do other useless pathetic activities that in no way improve upon my very limited skill set. Why do I find it so hard to get going on this? and why do I settle so easily instead of pushing myself further?

Am I the only one who finds it hard to do this?...is there a procrastinators anonymous I can sign up for?

The pencil is there with in arms reach... so why is the paper in the other room?

So as my work load has increased with class I have neglected drawing other things not affiliated with class. Thinking about things I would like to start drawing I pondered (as you do) that I enjoyed a class project where we had to draw monsters..... So I knocked this up quickly (really quickly for me!)

So here is the first of hopefully many monster sketches.

Colouring practice....

A friend of mine did a sketch I really liked, so I used it to practice my colouring. I spent fifteen minutes redoing the line work and another thirty minutes colouring her, I didnt get it finished but its passable and I like it.

I finaly got around to finishing this sketch for the monthly challenge....first entry :P

The colouring is super fast and dodgy because the first four attempts came out shit! I just can not seem to get the hang of the whole speed painting slash concept painting style.......

Oh and I suck at choosing colours.

Trying out a new style, for a first attempt I think it turned out fairly well, I have issues with the right hand and her breasts.....

Started working on the designs for our 3D class mini project, I kind of already have my story worked out but it needs a little work. This is my annoying service robot.

Foundation3d has a challenge going at the moment to design and model a flying vehicle, the brief is fairly open so I did a couple of quick profiles.....still looking for some thing I like before I commit to it.

Ok yes I know ive been lazy and havent posted on here in a very good while, no excuse really just been busy. I have spent most of my time working on a school project for character design, so I have been drawing.... anyway the designs (three total) are to be printed and put on the hallway walls so it has consumed most of my efforts as of late. About 90% finished but here is a low rez sample so I can test it on other monitors at school, I am very new to colouring so please forgive the crapness.

Unfinished.

Its finished....or atleast finished as far as printing is concerned. I still have some issues with a few things, but thats all im going to do tonight and it gets printed first thing tomorrow morning.

This was supposed to be my entry into a western themed activity, how ever I was unabble to get the image in my head out onto the screen....this crap is all that came out.
I also think that for finished work my resolution is too low, I have a very hard time with small details as my lines have clearly visible pixels.

This is a robot I draw up for my 3D home work project, its supposed to be retroish...I liked the sketch so tried my hand at colour....ten minutes on the sketch, twenty minutes colouring lol

Saw this in a book yesterday and I really liked the look of it so today I tried to redo it. I know my lines keep changing both colour and size, I am trying to find a colour and brush I like to sketch with....just can't seem to get it right (this one was too soft I think). So far I have only used photoshop so I might try some thing new soon I think.

Followed a sketching tutorial by a guy named woody from foundation3d.org I think it looks half decent but still looks nothing like his did :(

Quick attempt at a male head, I actually don't mind how the eyes turned out, but I hate the mouth, either way I think its crap.

Quick one, one of these heads works in an interesting kind of way but the other two need a lot of work. I'm quickly learning I need to work on my facial features, I have trouble with these no matter what style I try and achieve.

This blog is my futile attempt to improve my over all drawing ability. I will attempt to draw some thing every day, be it on the computer with my under used drawing tablet or with a pen and paper.

The posts should mostly be quick sketches......hopefully after a year or so I should be alot faster at sketching (because I'm bloody slow as piss now) and my ability to put down on paper what I see in my mind should be greatly improved......thats the plan anyway.

When time allows I will try and scan in some sketchbook pages as well.
